Website privacy notice
This covers data collected by the CounselNote website and checkout pages — it is separate from the CounselNote app itself, which stores pupil data only on your own computer.
What this site collects
- Contact form / sales emails: name, email address, school name, and anything you choose to tell us, used only to respond to your enquiry and to administer any purchase.
- Checkout (Paddle/PayPal): payment is handled entirely by Paddle.com Market Limited or PayPal; we never see or store your card details. We receive your email address and purchase details to issue your licence key.
- Download page: standard hosting access logs (IP address, browser type) may be recorded by our hosting provider under its own privacy statement, separate from this one.
- No cookies or tracking pixels are deliberately added by this site.
What this site does NOT collect
- No pupil data of any kind — this website never has access to anything inside the CounselNote app, which runs entirely offline on your own computer.
- No marketing cookies, no third-party ad trackers.
Legal basis
- Responding to enquiries: legitimate interest in providing the information you asked for.
- Processing a purchase: necessary to perform the contract of sale.
Retention
- Sales enquiry emails: kept for as long as reasonably needed to support your purchase and licence, then deleted.
- Purchase records: kept as required for UK tax/accounting obligations (currently 6 years).
Your rights
You can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing privacy@counselnote.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how your data has been handled.
